 SALSA CELTICA
Salsa Celtica need little introduction these days - they have long left behind any perceived novelty dimension to their signature blend of big-band Latin dance music with Scottish accents. They have earned admiration among the cognoscenti for their balance between authenticity and originality. They're recognised by audiences of folk, jazz and world music alike as one of Scotland's top party bands. Their integration of idioms boasts a new sophistication - as in the plaintive slow pipe tune that leads into Guajira Sin Sol, or the ebullient pipes and fiddle reel that kicks off the high-spirited title track. The alternating moods of yearning and celebration, after all, are fundamental to the music of both cultures; and it's by expanding on this emotional commonality that Salsa Celtica combine them so effectively.
 TONY OSCAR & KUBAN ORISHAS
‘Kuban Orishas’ is a showcase of top class international musicians and exotic dancers, lead by Cuban multi-talented front showman Tony Oscar, the first and the original ‘Salsero’, who brought Latin and salsa dance fever to Ireland over 12 years ago; to make an exciting, innovative and tasty Latin-Dance fusion with Hip-Hop, Reggaetton, R&B and Afro-Caribbean influences.’Tony Oscar & Kuban Orishas’ is a show that reflects the vibrancy of the New Latin American music scene, traditional, modern, original, romantic, sensual, rhythmic and explosive. Tony Oscar-Nephew of one the greatest Cuban musical heroes of all time, the maestro, Rafael Lay, leader of the Orchestra ARAGON, Tony Oscar, was naturally born for show business. He was only 6 years of age when he performed his first live gig in a well known student camp festival in Havana, Cuba, convincing a crowd of over 600 people and making it very evident...this boy can sing, act and dance... showing an early and fast developing talent and a very special gift for music.
 CUBA LIBRE
For those of you that haven’t got into the Salsa buzz flying around Galway for the last while, then be assured you ARE missing something! Cuba Libre plays around the country , but regularly takes to the stage weekly at the home of Galway's Latin spirit in BAR 903,Cuba in eyre square. This is one serious melting pot of international talent. This eight piece band, which boasts two percussionists, piano and a powerhouse brass section is fronted by renowned vocalist Andres Martorell. A native of Uruguay, he has worked with some of the most influential names in modern Salsa circles such as Eddy Pe Alver (Irakere) and topped the south American charts himself in the summer of 2002.
Under the musical direction of Stefano Muscovi, who has also worked with some of Europe's top Latin acts such as Ocho Rios, (who played Dizzy Gillespie's 70th birthday and Celia Cruz) this is one of Galway's most happening residencies! The band plays songs from the repertoires of Latin legends such as Rubens Blades, Oscar D'leon and all of the Latin favourites- Guaranteed to shake that booty!!
 CHACON Y SU TIMBA
Osvaldo Chacon reacts brilliantly to an audience, who always become involved in his style and sound. If you get a chance to see this guy at a live gig, do NOT miss it. The group has played at a number of festivals and they are one of the leading and original exponents of Cuban salsa, particularly Timba.
